Beer subscription. Which one is best?

I've been thinking about getting my dad something different for Christmas and was looking into beer subscriptions. There seems to be so many websites I don't know which one is the better one to go with. Any suggestions? Thank you

My dad and brother enjoy Flavourly. They continued a gift subscription themselves after it ended because they liked it so much.

I use Beerhawk for gift boxes, for a subscription i've just done a 3 month plan with Beer52, my husband loves finding new ales

Hoptimism isn’t a subscription as such, but they can put together high quality boxes of beer to suit the customer, and with great customer service.

We had a one off box from Beer52 and apparently it was all nice.

We also had a one off box from Beer52, and while the beer was fine, I don't think it is that good as a present.

To get the beer you had to give your credit card details, sign up for a subscription and cancel afterwards, by phone that took several phone calls before they picked up, or else they would keep sending you more beer.

It is also quite expensive for what you get and it's a mixed case, so it didn't seem possible to get all beer to your taste. Just about every supermarket in the land sells hundreds of different beers for about half the price of the online suppliers.

@BarbaraofSevillle I ordered it off Notonthehighstreet as a one off box, and that didn't involve needing to sign up for the subscription and then cancelling.

I bought it because I had bought DH a beer stein thingie, and wanted to get some random beers to go with it. I agree it's not really a great present in itself, and not particularly "fancy" beer either, and you could buy similar from any well stocked supermarket. Can't really comment on the taste as I hate all beer...

Thank you for all of your replies. I'll definitely have a look at them all. I idiotically bought the free box off beer52, so now I'll have to wait 24 hours to cancel 🤔 their monthly prices are a bit too high for me

My Beer52 has cost £69 for the 3 month plan but i do need to email the guy I've dealt with to cancel it

I had one with Beer52 and it was a nightmare to cancel but the recipient was happy with the beer they sent.
