I am almost 50 and I can't believe I am unable

to find the end of the sellotape. Bloomin wrapping Christmas presents and the frickin sellotape goes round in a continual circle and neither beginning nor end can I find.

Is there a You Tube video or something that may help me find the end?

Get a dispenser. Life's too short.

It's got a weedy thin tail, scratch across it instead of around.

Top tip: lick your finger and run your finger along the tape. You will feel the end very easily.

It will be scraggly and triangular when you find it. Scrape across the edge with a fingernail until it stands out, find the point and pull. Slowly.

After this, fold the end over once you're done. Then get sellotape with a dispenser as per a PP's suggestion.

This one definitely does not have an end. It just continuously goes round in a complete circle. No beginning and no end. It totally turns my perception of a roll of sellotape upside down.

Hold it over a boiling kettle (don't burn your hand!) the steam will loosen the adhesive at the join.

p.s. When I tried to do this, I burnt my hand!!!

Buy a heavyweight dispenser. Especially if you have small children who like craft. Tis life changing.

Take a very fine layer of talc in your hands, pat from palm to palm and now run the palms of your hands along the outside of the sellotape - it will be easy to see now. When you get it, go past the talcy bit of tape and stick to the table edge where you are, go wash your hands as talc will get on things. Fold the end when done and yes to a heavyweight dispenser.

The talc trick was often used by a friend who did a lot of packing by hand

I’m in my forties and this happens to me all the time. Try feeling the opposite way round the tape to the way you think the end will be. I almost always am trying to feel for it the wrong way round (if that makes sense!)

Use string instead. It's life-changing, honestly.

Zen1 I have done that and I keep thinking I can find the end, but no! I even tried it out on some friends who popped round and they tell me I am being stupid. They hit 40 this year and now tell me that sellotape has no end it just keep going round and round in a giant colourful circle.

Dp absolutely rips the piss out of me when I wear it but as I do all the wrapping he can shut the fuck up
The cost of the refills pales into insignificance when I hear about people still scrabbling about looking for the end of the roll of tape. It’s 2018 people!!
