Why are all these women sitting on the floor in their pants?’

I just received some wool carpet samples, lovely high quality stuff, but accompanied by this leaflet....is it just me or is this no better than having bikini babes sprawled on the bonnet of a new car? I’m mystified- surely women are the main decision-makers when it comes to carpet-buying. What on earth would make this company think that a half-naked blonde would seal the deal with me? Am I supposed to want to be her?

Hmm as a carpet owner I would say it is a bit scratchy

Grace212 · 14/12/2018 15:00

I was going to say "for the same reason they laugh alone with salad" but Virago beat me to it!

Moominfan · 14/12/2018 15:01

Worms maybe?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 14/12/2018 15:01

I think they come with the carpet
Maybe come ON the carpet which might explain the mysterious stains when we moved into our current house

ThatWouldBeNO · 14/12/2018 15:03

Contact the company and tell them that they’ve got it all wrong....... That you need to see their advertising material with the half naked men draped over the carpet to help you make up your mind.

KickAssAngel · 14/12/2018 15:04

If they want to show that the carpet's so soft it won't chafe delicate skin, they would show a baby/young child lying on it.

Otherwise they're trying to imply that it's soooo sensual that you'll just want to strip off and roll around having naked good times.

*Where are the men in their pants?!

holding the camera, obv.*

or holding something far more personal and precious.

olivertwistwantsmore · 14/12/2018 15:08

Never mind that, just thank God the carpet is fire resistant! With the model staring wistfully into the fire!!! These are - unintentionally - hilarious.

olivertwistwantsmore · 14/12/2018 15:10

So wool locks away harmful gases for 30 years? What the heck happens then?? Do the gases just all explode out??

JessieMcJessie · 14/12/2018 15:13

GrinGrin I am glad you all agree with me!
We can all contact the company by the way, their name is on the pics!

The Allergy Safe one is clearly making the point that you won't get raging thrush from sitting on it panty-free. What a relief, because I find canesten really hard to wash out of the pile!

JessieMcJessie · 14/12/2018 15:14

I might just link them this thread...

Our pile won’t give you piles?

Wish they had rubbed their fannies on my wool carpet, might have put the fucking moths off eating it.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 14/12/2018 15:18

PMSL @ Elfinablender!! Stealing their trousers/pants too. Genius!

What is the women laughing into their salads about? I have missed that one.

abacucat · 14/12/2018 15:20

Crazy, they don't even understand who is actually buying their carpets.

NewYoiker · 14/12/2018 15:22

Grin I like this thread

Ezzie29 · 14/12/2018 15:26

This reminds me of the unnecessarily sexual multicooker I saw in a shop one time. Really don’t know why a multicooker needs such a seductress on the front, as lovely as she is.

Tinty · 14/12/2018 15:27

I actually have the first carpet on there. It’s very nice but I have never sat on it without pants or indeed solely in pants.

Solely in pants, so topless? Maybe you should try it tonight, see what DH thinks?

Hmm as a carpet owner I would say it is a bit scratchy

Were you inspired by this thread? Did you try it? Grin

I believe the term is "scooting" threewheeler

DDog gets herself in trouble by doing it when we have guests Hmm

My carpet must be satisfactorily scratchy rather than soft.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 14/12/2018 15:33

I think they come with the carpet?

So to speak.

Bittermints · 14/12/2018 15:37

We don't have a single carpet (largely because of moths) but we do have a few rugs. I don't sit around on them half-naked looking pensive, though. Bit chilly for that at present.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 14/12/2018 15:38

Lambethmum - reminds me of this The Simpsons scene:

Hmm

@ViragoKnows Hilarious Grin

Thanks for the laugh OP, great thread.

PlatypusPie · 14/12/2018 15:41

Crucial Trading’s origins were in sisal rugs and runners - you wouldnt want to sit on that in anything less robust than double gussetted PE knickers circa 1950.

The first picture ( Colours) looks like a strange version of ten pin bowling.
