Any recommendations for places to eat near the Tower end of Cable Street, Whitechapel / Wapping, with 10-year-olds, late afternoon / early evening?

Good curry? Try tayyabs for fast feast - tayyabs.co.uk
Or Lahore One or Two - lahoreone.co.uk

Thanks GreyClouds, they look great. I’d also love to know about places that are safe bets for not-spicy children.

I’d get myself along to St Katherine’s Dock. As well as eating they can look at the boats in the marina and also get to see The Tower and Tower Bridge.

I was going to suggest St Katherine's dock too.

100% St Katherine's docks. There is a zizizs and other chain type stuff in a beautiful setting, woudl be easy with kids. You could have an explore around wapping first.

Tayabs etc is super busy and hectic and personally I think the food and service are terrible.

AlexaAmbidextra · 14/12/2018 17:39

I too think Tayyabs is vastly overrated.

Wilton’s Music Hall does very nice pizzas - and it’s an amazing building!

I love Tayyabs - but it’s great for boozy 20 somethings who enjoy hearing the staff shout at everyone (and one one memorable occasion, two staff get into a fist fight in the midst of the tables).

St Katherine’s dock doesn’t have amazing food, but is really nice setting, ideal for 10 yos. There used to be a decent dim sum place there, not sure if it’s still there though.
