I'm a special school TA, working with children who have severe learning disabilities and complex medical needs. However I recently applied for a job in a similar role but out of education, and much better paid. I wasn't going to apply because I don't have the stated qualifications (I have an unrelated degree but 14 years experience) but my DD2 told me to apply anyway as there is nothing to lose, and to my amazement I have been invited to interview next week.
I would REALLY love this job, working with the children I adore but without the crap of the national curriculum. It is literally my dream job.
I'm realistic, I'm 50 and while I really do feel I have the skills , they may want someone with the paperwork! However I am very pleased to have the chance.
I so want this...
