Help me identify a television series?

Please.

Eighties, I think. About a travelling theatre/ rep company. Big name cast. Probably BBC.

I’ve never seen it but I mentally earmarked the boxset as a possible Christmas present earlier in the year. Now I cant find it or remember the name.

The Good Companions, from the JB Priestly novel? Various adaptations over the years, but there was a version broadcast late 1980/early 1981, according to IMDb.
