Interview feedback, what would you make of it?

Opinions please as I have to wait til Monday!! Interview went great, they talked in present tense showed me around etc... But one of the last things was "it's going to be tough we have very strong candidates one being you" What would you take out of that? Friend thinks is so I get into the mindset that I "fought" for the job

Is the salary still to be negotiated?

Needadoughnut · 13/12/2018 17:14

Nope, I think the salary is what it is

I would take it at face value. It's obvious your interview went well, so they mean if you succeed you have done really well; if you don't succeed it was because the competition was very strong rather than because you were lacking anything. I don't think they'd have said this if you weren't a serious contender for the role, so it's a positive. Best of luck!

I would think they meant it will be a tough decision for them to make as they have some strong candidates including you

I also had met the agency owner before, so I think it was easy for me to think the job was mine. They even joked I could wait to work with the other boss as he's apparently my neighbour.

I'd just take it at face value. Doesn't sound cryptic to me or full of hidden meaning to be picked apart. You'll just have to wait til Monday!

Yes, I went to that interview knowing that if I didn't get it was because there was someone better than me
