Child bathing alone

What is the correct age? Ds is 5 in Feb and sometimes he says he's fine in the bath but I still think it's risky.

I think 5 is ok if they’re sensible enough, door open at all times and within shouting distance though.

I am always in ear shot. Also I’d im in another room, I shout out and chat to ds. Just to make sure. He’s used to this and goes along with it. I wouldn’t forgive myself if he drowned. It only takes a small cup of water in a child’s lungs to drown. I have slip mats too. One at each end.
I’m an adult and I’ve slipped in the shower before.
I don’t think you need to be there throughout his entire bath.

Our bathroom comes off the kitchen, DD is 5 and allowed on the bath alone while I'm in the kitchen pottering.
