a few days ago. We ordered a new one online from the council and we now - very promptly - have a lovely shiny new one.

In our area, green bins are FREE.

I give up Grin

It happens all the time. Make sure you paint your house number all over it.

People steal our brown food caddy ALL THE BLOODY TIME!! It's infuriating because like your green one, IT'S FREE! I think they see our nice clean, in-tact one (a lot get cracked get blown over as they're so small) and think 'oh, I'll have that' instead of just applying for one fgs.

Drives me mental but as PP said paint your number on it. I've painted ours on our big bins (same happened with them) but for some reason haven't done it with the caddys so partly my fault I suppose.

It’s usually the pensioners round our way. If you have a nice new insert for your recycling bin they will nick it between the recycling being collected and you getting home from work. We put it down to their make do & mend training.

Then they wave at you over the hedge as if nothing had happened. We nicked ours back from them and don’t put it out with the bin any more.
