30 Hours free childcare - cancellation?

Posted in education but I didn't get any replies...

I keep getting text messages saying I need to reconfirm DD's eligibility for the 30 free hours childcare. The texts say I have to reconfirm or will loose the hours, she's at school now so no longer needed anyway but am I meant to inform them? I can't find anywhere on the childcare account to cancel it??

She started reception in September & has since turned 5. I keep ignoring them because I presumed they would know she was at school but maybe I've missed a step have I??

Might be worth giving tax free childcare care number a call. You should find the number on government website. My dd started reception this September, but we are asked to reconfirm for the taxfree childcare allowance which we can use for after school childcare. I am sure you know that if we do not confirm for this every 3 months the allowance and 30 hours stops.

I know this thread was a while ago now but thought it might be useful to update in case others come across it. I've just called the HMRC Helpdesk and they've confirmed that you don't need to cancel the 30 hours free childcare, just ignore the reminders. (this doesn't apply to tax free child care). Hope this might help others who are going round in circles on the HMRC website!
