What brands do your 16yo sons like?

Need a gift for a 16yo lad for christmas. Happy to do cash for birthdays but christmas Id like a "thing". Maybe about 20quid to spend.

I figured I could get a branded pair of socks or something - but no idea what brands a 16yo lad likes these days. Jack Wills too young. Paul Smith? Trying to sway away from spprts brands.

Thanks

My son 16, is into brands that you can only get in Selfridges, all the lads in his friendship group have very expensive taste. I refuse to pay daft prices so he saves birthday and Xmas money to get himself clothes and enjoys going shopping to treat himself. He needs a job. I'd def give money if you're not sure, they are so picky, even more so than my daughter, she's happy with primark!!

just cash or vouchers, it's very difficult to buy clothes for teens.

at DC school brands seem to link you to certain groups, so some wouldn't be seen dead in some brands yet others will only wear those brands.

I have One dc not interested in brands at all and Prefers not to have logos everywhere, and one DC who loves Superdry but goes for the stuff that doesn't a massive 'Superdry' written on it.

My teen DSs like Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin’s klein. Some other more expensive brands for the older one too.

Mine wouldn’t be seen dead in superdry or Jack Wills. Adidas or Nike are popular as sports, more Nike for mine but each are different.

Most teens I know wouldn't be seen dead in superdry. I think that brand is now seen as being for mid 40s. I reckon north face,Nike or Adidas would go down well.

Yulebealrite · 14/12/2018 08:25

Ds is into ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, North face and the obvious nike and Adidas.
Another one whose dd isn't bothered but ds is.

Yulebealrite · 14/12/2018 08:26

Also champion from jd sports

NC4Now · 14/12/2018 08:32

If you don’t know his taste I would try and think of something more generic.

Others have mentioned brands like North Face, Stone Island, Nike etc.
My DS wouldn’t be seen dead in them.
He likes Emerica, RIP n Dip, Route One etc.

At this age, brands align you to a tribe.

I’d get him some chocolate and an iTunes voucher.

Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger here.

claraschu · 14/12/2018 08:52

One of mine will only wear things from charity shops- it's hard to generalise.

PouchofDouglas · 15/12/2018 11:46

Not an iTunes voucher ffs
Kids don’t do that.

GIVE CASH

Processedpea · 15/12/2018 12:00

yep cash, having to wear specific brands is very chavy (imo of the meaning of the word)

diamondofdoom · 15/12/2018 12:03

I know this is a few days old, but does he like stuff like Rick and Morty, Star Wars, Family Guy? (All tv programmes) you can get some christmassy socks or novelty socks and boxers with characters? My DP is 27 and still wears them 😂😂
