If dd & I love Bake Off and Project Runway, what else might we like?

Any thoughts? She's watched Queer Eye, so not that. Basically good natured trashy tv :)

Face Off? It's a US reality show with special effects make up artists. Sounds a bit niche but it's fun!

Crimbobimbo · 12/12/2018 19:12

Ru Paul Drag Race. Bit of swearing.

That one on channel 4 about tattooists.

ThanksItHasPockets · 12/12/2018 19:13

How old is DD? RuPaul’s Drag Race is a favourite of mine but it’s gently risqué so probably for 13-14+.

If you can find Australian Masterchef then that’s excellent. The most recent series has recently finished on W but you might find repeats.

Ok very trashy but me and Dd used to like that programme where Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie used to try jobs out and stay in peoples houses... can’t remember what it’s called! Not current though.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 12/12/2018 19:14

Don't tell the bride. It's my guilty pleasure.

ThanksItHasPockets · 12/12/2018 19:14

Oh and Nailed It on Netflix for baking disasters.

Emptyspace · 12/12/2018 19:18

Nailed It is a baking competition on Netflix. There are challenges each week where three contestants have to recreate something eg a wedding cake. It is quite amusing as some of them are hopeless.

MrsBungle · 12/12/2018 19:19

Dd are loving “say yes to the dress” at the moment. It’s about brides picking their dresses in a bridal shop. I can’t get enough of it!

statetrooperstacey · 12/12/2018 19:20

Nailed it. Me and my dd are watching it now, really good!

ElspethFlashman · 12/12/2018 19:20

I think RuPauls Drag Race would probably be OK, there's very little swearing. It certainly doesn't register as sweary in my head. And any innuendo would go right over her head. Instead she'd just see GLITTER EXTRAVAGANZA!

(Don't go back to series 1 though, it got more money thrown at it a couple of years in and became slicker)

I actually think the Tattoo one is more risqué, some of those tattoos are really rude! Shock

Hoddykins · 12/12/2018 19:21

The great British Sewing Bee!

Emptyspace · 12/12/2018 19:22

Was also going to say Say Yes to the Dress! I wasted a whole Saturday afternoon recently watching that. It’s about more dresses, it’s also about the stories behind the couples and the family dynamics.

reddA · 12/12/2018 19:23

Project Runway? ANTM?

tissuesosoft · 12/12/2018 19:23

Cupcake Wars, Cake Boss, Say Yes to the Dress- the Atlanta one is great, Masterchef USA,

ElspethFlashman · 12/12/2018 19:24

Omg someone mentioned Say Yes to the Dress!!!

I was obsessed with that on my first mat leave, it's on in the day on some Sky channel and I series linked it and literally watched it solidly for 3 months with baby clamped to boob on sofa. It got me through some dark times, let me tell you.

(Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta is also excellent as it's full of mad Southern child brides with terrifying Grandmothers and they also have a Batshit Bridesmaids department )

reddA · 12/12/2018 19:25

oops - sorry just saw you watched project runway - did you watch the kids one?

Sadik · 12/12/2018 19:25

This is fantastic, keep them coming! Forgot to say, she's 16 - needs trashy harmless tv as just started college & its long days and hard work - so swearing etc all fine Grin

OP posts:
Euamoonatal · 12/12/2018 19:26

Sewing bee too!

purplemunkey · 12/12/2018 19:26

Drag Race has LOADS of swearing in it! I love it and would recommend if you're not worried about that.

I read there doing a UK version. I have the feeling it just won't be the same.

Sadik · 12/12/2018 19:26

Netflix / Iplayer for preference btw

Is the kids project runway good? Only just saw it today

purplemunkey · 12/12/2018 19:28

Oh defo get stuck into Drag Race then ☺

reddA · 12/12/2018 19:29

It's okay, watchable :)

Atleastihavethecat · 12/12/2018 19:30

Nailed it. Zumbos just desserts. The curious creations of Christine McConnell. The final table. All on Netflix.

TheHatOfDoom · 12/12/2018 19:32

I didn’t like the final table, gave up after 3 episodes. Sugar Rush on Netflix is ace though.

bellinisurge · 12/12/2018 19:34

Love Project Runway - we even did a pilgrimage to Mood Fabrucs when we went to visit family in New York
