Laptop at home question.

Apologies for how dumb this question is.

If I'm working from home on my laptop what cables do I need to make sure the laptop stays charged?

Any help appreciated Wine

Just plug it in every so often? It'll alert you when the battery is low - surely you just need the power cable?

LIZS · 12/12/2018 15:51

Power adapter

peachypetite · 12/12/2018 15:58

Don't you have a charger? Confused

Angie169 · 12/12/2018 15:59

As PP have said a standard power cable would work .
However if you are using a laptop that normally is based on the docking station that charges it whilst you're working you may need to get a battery for your laptop as well or it may not be possible to charge it via a standard cable would suggest you make sure it's fully charged before you take it from work and hope that it last all night.

Your charger

halfwitpicker · 12/12/2018 16:14

This is the charger, right?

Well, it looks as though it could well be a charger.

But didn't you think to ask, before you left the office with your laptop, what charging device you should take home with you?

dippledorus · 12/12/2018 16:31

Yes, that looks like the charger.

Have you an issue with the laptop?

LIZS · 12/12/2018 16:37

Assuming it is compatible with the laptop that should work.

peachypetite · 12/12/2018 16:40

Are you taking the piss

halfwitpicker · 12/12/2018 16:46

No.

The charger is plugged into this thing (attached) but I guess I don't need that too? Just the charger and cable?

Why can't you ask someone in work? Since you are there? Rather than posting here when we don't know the set up for your laptop?

Lieinrequired · 12/12/2018 16:49

Your second picture looks like a docking station. You will not need that.

LIZS · 12/12/2018 16:51

The power cable should detach from the docking station and fit into the side of the laptop.

You'll look more of an idiot if you go home without the right kit.

theworldistoosmall · 12/12/2018 17:01

Erm, follow the cable from the laptop to the plug. That's the cable you need.

You do know how to connect to Wifi don't you when at home?

Heuschrecke · 12/12/2018 17:02

OP, has it occurred to you that the first two words of your MN NN and your idiotic stance about this just goes to show ..........

FFS, just ask a colleague for help
