Chickenpox or not?!

Looking for advice on whether my 3.5 yo DS has chickenpox please. He has had a horrid cold and cough for a few days and then yesterday I noticed a red spot on his neck. He was then itching his torso and I discovered another spot on is lower abdomen - on closer inspection I discovered a total of five spots. But only five.

He has no fever, seems a little sensitive but otherwise fine (no temp) and I’m baffled as to whether this is chickenpox or not. A few of his little preschool friends came down with CP over the weekend so I’d expect him to catch it but is it ever this mild?

Anybody had anything like this?

Sounds like it. The spots will start appearing more rapidly and he would have been feeling more groggy before the spots show.

50:50 what it could be. Yes it can be very mild, Baby Dd only had about 6 spots for most 3 days. Plus extras in groin.

Thanks for replies - he now has a couple more on his back/tummy and one on each leg so it does seem to be spreading just really slowly..
