Amazon Firestick and Sky

I’m thinking of getting DH a firestick for the TV but we already have Sky.

Is there anything the firestick offers that Sky doesn’t?

I’m liking that it can stream in 4K whereas we would have to pay a monthly fee for that on Sky.

We have both. You get different stuff on the Firestick, can watch it any time rather than to a schedule too.

Do you have a smart tv? If not a firestick is an amazing idea. In addition to sky it offers
Amazon prime tv
Netflix
Youtube

And lots of smaller apps but they are the main and best ones!!

my boyfriend bought me a firestick for my birthday and we haven’t had the virgin box in our bedroom plugged in since! genuinely one of the best presents ever! ive just bought my dad one for christmas.

We have a smart TV but don’t have a Netflix subscription or Amazon Prime.

What extra will I be getting do you know? Obviously we have loads of channels through Sky so does the Firestick come with shows and films not available on demand?

I don't see the point of a smart stick if you can already access Netflix and Prime via the tv if you had subscriptions. There's not much you can watch in 4K that's on Sky.

I’m starting to think you’re right. I looked at what is in 4K and Dynansties would be good but that’s about it. I quite like the idea of being able to control the he tv through echo but not for £50...

I have a fire stick and a prime account. There is still quite a lot that you need to pay extra for even with a prime account. I also have Netflix and prefer that to be honest.

You can stream Showbox via your Android phone on a Firestick 😁
