Meghan Markle looked stunning last night

She comes across as so articulate and polished. The belly cupping was a bit OTT, but the dress and her hair were fab. Feel for her, she has been getting such bad press recently.

She did look beautiful. She has a gorgeous bump and it's coming along nicely.

Karmin · 11/12/2018 19:42

When I was pregnant with all 3 of mine, I would have driven some of you mad, as whenever my hands were not doing something they would naturally drift to my bump, it is just a natural instinct and much stronger with the first. It is an innate survival tendency to protect yourself, especially when feeling vulnerable. Khloe Kardashian was also criticised for the same reason. There are many reflexes and primitive instincts that remain with us, as humans, today. For many women, they will be unaware that they are instinctively "guarding" their baby. Is it really any surprise that someone so in the public eye during her first pregnancy may feel overwhelmed and want to protect herself and her baby.

Plus, as the baby develops they will react to being touched.

The personal interaction between the mother and baby should be respected, it doesn't matter if you think it is attention seeking, because she always has eyes and cameras on her watching her every move and documenting it in the tabloids, she doesn't need to seek attention, she gets it whether she wants it or not!

Also, Katherine did it just as much but she hid it slightly better by holding it with the hand that wasn't on display, but there are loads of pictures of every pregnant person in the public eye touching their bump from the moment of announcement.

She looked beautiful, and she appears to be loving being pregnant.

It would really piss me off if I could only ever have nude nails or the right kind of shoes because the Queen said so.
I find the idea of the Queen having a quiet word that she didn’t like x/y/z of your outfit choice with a lady in waiting who could pass it on just very odd. Does she really care? The idea makes her seem like a bit of a busybody.

Actually, there is a video of her holding her bump, it wasn't just a moment she was holding her bump for a long time, while the winner gave her acceptance speech.

However, maybe her baby was bouncing around, I remember that feeling when baby was doing a few tumbles I would have to hold my belly, I loved that sensation of feeling them moving on both the inside and outside.

She is gorgeous and a radiant mom to be.

I really would like to think that the Queen, who's lived through the second world war, the premature death of her father, the various ups and downs of the nation and her own children's personal problems, would have a better sense of perspective than to be bothered about the colour of her granddaughter-in-law's nail varnish.

ThanksItHasPockets · 11/12/2018 19:52

One of my favourite things about pregnancy both times was having somewhere to rest my hands!

Loyaultemelie · 11/12/2018 19:54

@Karmin me too, Dh used to joke be careful or you will rub that baby away if you don't leave it alone, half the time I didn't even realise I was doing it.

Crikey.

TheLittlestLightOnTheTree · 11/12/2018 20:01

Lol at her being an 'inspiration to many'!!

Er,no. Not really

shartsi · 11/12/2018 20:01

It is her bump. No one has a right to tell her what to do to it. I loved all my bumps, cradle them all the time and I am one of those women who didn't mind strangers rubbing my bump.

Maybe the baby was moving around. When I was heavily pregnant I could see my bump move when she kicked and moved. Maybe Megan didn't want it caught on camera.

jessstan2 · 11/12/2018 20:10

She certainly did look good.

It only took the media five minutes to make things up about her. Hopefully no-one believes a word of it and she doesn't take any notice. They all come in for it sooner or later.

When the baby arrives, the press will be all over Meghan again.

shamofamockery · 11/12/2018 20:13

Pregnant with my first and spend most of my day cradling my bump.

It's MY bump. Let her cradle hers as much as she wants.

Lots of venom on here tonight. Chill out, y'all. It's Christmas.

Lottapianos · 11/12/2018 20:23

'It would really piss me off if I could only ever have nude nails or the right kind of shoes because the Queen said so.'

I'm sure it's utter bollocks that's been invented by the papers just for shit stirring purposes. She's pregnant, nothing more to report until baby arrives, so they have to invent some bullshit like the supposed falling out with Kate Hmm

OllyBJolly · 12/12/2018 13:07

*The Duchess of Sussex is an inspiration to many

To do what? Marry well?*

She was an outspoken proponent of human rights before she even met Harry.

Didiusfalco · 12/12/2018 13:11

I read an article suggesting the dark nail polish and excessive belly cupping, which apparently doesn’t fit with protocol, might be a ‘fuck you’ to the establishment that are leaking all this shit about her. I hope so, I think she’s being treated terribly by the press.

WilburforceRaven · 12/12/2018 13:15

I didn't think she looked good. The bump caressing is annoying. Wish we didn't have to pay for these people, especially now Harry's so far down the line and may be bumped even further if William and Catherine have another child or two (Kate's definitely young enough, younger than Meghan).

OverwateredCheeseplant · 12/12/2018 13:46

She looked gorgeous but the belly cupping was OTT and vomitous.

Lottapianos · 12/12/2018 16:16

'She was an outspoken proponent of human rights before she even met Harry.'

She was, and she's a successful and famous woman in her own right. The papers have been keen to portray her as some money-grabbing, screaming diva who had let her cossetted life go to her head Hmm

IcedPurple · 12/12/2018 16:53

It would really piss me off if I could only ever have nude nails or the right kind of shoes because the Queen said so.

It would piss me off too, but then I wouldn't enthusiastically accept all the massive benefits which go with being a member of the Queen's family, as Meghan has done.

Speaking of shoes, who paid for Meghan's? And the bespoke Givenchy gown - likely costing a 5 figure sum - that she was wearing?

Gilead · 12/12/2018 17:24

My grandmother once said 'a woman's worst enemy is another woman'. Another thread proving her right.

TheBubGrower · 12/12/2018 18:41

People on here saying feminism hasn't come very far if we're congratulating MM - NO feminism hasn't come very far if women are on here bashing other women for the way they touch their own body!!

Who cares? So what if she's cradling her bump more than you'd like, it's instinctive and why shouldn't she be proud of it?? She's 37, which is not old by any means to have a baby, but she may have spent years yearning to have a baby for all we know, so why shouldn't she enjoy every moment of it? Maybe she's doing it to remind the media that she is pregnant right now and could do with them backing the F off and laying off her with all these made up stories in the press. It's exactly what we did with Diana, everybody loves to hate on a princess

TheBubGrower · 12/12/2018 18:42

iced the bespoke Givenchy gown was likely gifted!
