Does anyone know how a switched on phone actually affects a flight? I can't help thinking that if it was really an issue they surely wouldn't just rely on us switching off 'because they said so' and would actually check..... but if there's no issue why do they bother telling us to turn it off at all!! I flew last week and accidently left my work phone in my cabin bag which I put in overhead locker. Didn't realise until later that night it I'd forgotten to put on flight mode..... and guess what? We didn't crash or have any issues with the instruments...….
