I stayed one night with DH in a hotel after our wedding 2 weeks ago.
DH paid on checkout and was presented with one bill.
He noticed on his credit card during honeymoon that it looked like the amount had been taken twice but couldnt be sure until it wasnt pending any more.
Now the online banking has updated it shows clearly two transactions for the identical amounts.
DH finally gets through to the hotel to explain and ask for a refund for their error.
They have said that nothing extra shows on their system so we need to prove it.
That seems a little bit of a strange request and a little annoying, but DH has sent me screen shots of the two transactions and the even stranger thing is that the name of the hotel changes slightly between the two transactions.
The transaction dates are the same. But the dates the money has been taken out of the credit card are on consecutive days.
Is this anything to worry about or can this happen sometimes with transactions?
