Tooth whitening , I'm scared

I've just been to the dentist and had some molds done of my teeth for my whiting trays , im now waiting for them to come back.
Since having a coffee craving during my pregnancy my teeth have become yellow , I only wanted them slightly whiter ...not like a Hollywood smile.

I'm a worrier , and now terrified my teeth will become damaged if I use the whitening kit ( from the dentist )..

Also I plan on kicking the coffee habit and cutting out caffeine , I don't smoke and don't drink

Can anyone put my mind at rest please xx

Just take it very slowly, you don’t have to use the trays every day you can do it over a longer period, you will get the same result. Your dentist would not let you bleach your teeth if they thought it would damage them, if you are still worried give the surgery a call I’m sure they will reassure you.

Did mine 8 years ago. They were a bit sensitive for about a week but nothing since. They looked much better after!!

Agree that the dentist would not agree to this if it would harm your teeth health. Out of interest, how much does it cost? Grin

Have had mine done and had no pain, just lovely white teeth.

They said it won't damage my teeth , but it me the worrier and I always think about the what ifs eg.. what if I have a sip of coffee will it leave coffee speckles o. My teeth and what if years down the line my teeth start rotting , I've not had one filling , and no cavities . My teeth a basically perfect , apart from the yellow tone and crocked teeth lol .

I was expecting an examination of my tooth health and gums and perhaps a hygynist appointment and telling me my teeth are ok for this ... It's not my regular dentist. Maybe I should have a quick check up with my usual dentist .

I second taking it slowly.

I used polar white, 10% and 16%
The ten was fine, but when I used the 16% , I also was told to leave them in over night. I ended up with really sensitive and tooth ache for couple days.

Next time I would do a day miss a day. And only leave it on a hour
As I read after that time it’s not actually doing anything.
