Off on my hols tomorrow, its an all inclusive hotel in Teneriffe so I am bringing minimal cash with me, but my son mentioned hotel tax being payable (its a long time since I have been abroad). Googling I cant find anything about Teneriffe tax only other areas of Spain, so I was wondering if anyone has been recently to the Canaries and knows if this is payable there and roughly the amount I will need to hold back.

I have been to Tenerife a few times, only came back 3 weeks ago and I've never had to pay anything so as far as I'm aware I don't think you need to pay anything but someone more knowledgable might know more!

I think it is paid but by the hotel (obviously by you but they include it in their rates).

The Baleriacs have an extra tax you pay bit not the Canaries.

I don’t know if this tax will have to be paid separately when you’re there but in general tourist taxes tend to be around two or three euros a night in Europe. Not enough to break the bank.

Not a clue. But once you get there can you let us know what the weather is like Grin please! I was debating booking somewhere in the Canaries this month but wasn't 100% on what the weather would be like

Just got through to Thomas Cook Live Chat and I am pleased to confirm that there is no Tourism Tax in the Canaries
