Anyone work in a shoe shop?

I'm doing a shoe box appeal with the kids in my class. We will be filling them with toiletries and treats for the homeless.

I was thinking it would be nice for kids to paint their boxes in school.

Do shoe shops keep boxes? If I rang Clark's would they give me 20 boxes?

Am I being naive?

Might struggle for spares, are there any local primary schools that have shoeboxes left over from the shoe box appeal?

I worked in Clarks years ago and loads of people don't want the boxes so we flattened them and recycled them. However if someone ever phoned and wanted x amount, we'd just store them until they came to collect them. So it might be worth phoning and giving them a few days to get enough before you pop in to collect them.
