Has anyone else had one of those days?

Today has been a got from start to finish (well now so here's hoping it's all over!)

First I slipped coming down the stairs to the train. Twisted my ankle, can walk but very sore.

Get seat on (relatively empty) train. Six stops later, train has filled up and a woman asks me to move so her 7 year old son can sit down. (tube, not fast train so no allocated seating)
"Sorry but I twisted my ankle and can't stand for the 50 minutes I'll be on the train"

"But he's only 7! Why should be have to stand?"

Basically I refused to budge (I'm on my feet at work so I need to rest my ankle to get through my shift, we've got a carriage full of men in suits who she hasn't approached, and there's no medical reason for child to need to sit. There's a priority seat opposite but has another young man in suit in it)

She starts swearing at me. I ignore her.

Get to work hobbling slightly.
Get sworn at by customers who bought the wrong ticket and cannot travel.
Got sworn at cos won't let people travel for free.
Get sworn at cos I don't work for insert transport company name here and cannot refund a ticket purchased from them.

Get home.
Go to do school run.
Indicate to turn left.
Family on foot approaching corner.
Family walk out in front of car.
Slam on emergency brake
Person behind me slams on emergency brake, and honks horn.

Family crossing (without checking for cars) Start swearing at me calling me the c word and saying I'm a "racist English b*h" (with toddler in arms)

Is today national swear at flutter day?
And is it too soon to open the wine??

💐 onwards and upwards!

Singlenotsingle · 10/12/2018 16:40

Oh dear! Oh dear! Sorry to hear about your nightmare day, OP. I hope tomorrow turns out better. And no, it's not too early!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 10/12/2018 16:42

My day so far. The cat has taken to pooing within 2 yards of her (clean) litter tray. My 'D'SD has apparently defriended me and DD as well her dad last week, when she fell out with him. She's speaking to him again now, but maybe hoped we wouldnt notice? I am in a musical band, and the politics are getting very silly. I made a suggestion that would avoid the chaos of last week's band practice, but because I am not a man, it has been ignored !

Flutternotsoshy · 10/12/2018 16:43

I just needed a rant. Never been sworn at so often by randomers in one day!

Yes onwards and upwards. And once DD is in bed I shall partake.
Think I've earned this one!

Oh Dear SpongeBob.
I hate politics within families and friendship groups.

Think we both deserve a glass of something.

I have norovirus. Emailed work to let them know, and replied to another email saying ‘I won’t be working today’. The reply I got was ‘I need an answer by the end of the day’. Urgh. So much for taking care of your employees.

So yes, joining you in a shocker of a day.

Flutternotsoshy · 10/12/2018 17:12

@Needallthesleep
That's shocking. Noro is no fun. Just rest and keep hydrated.
Hope you feel better soon

I went Christmas shopping today and 2 of the sodding shops didn't have any of the things on my very long list.

In one sports shop the idiot serving me took 30 minutes to bring the same shoes(just 1 pair)in the wrong size 3 times(and no before anyone else starts on me he wasn't disabled and didn't have extra needs)and he was such an ignorant shit,no apologie nothing untill the other lad on the till had a go at him for messing me about so much.

I'm disabled and was in alot of pain and couldn't order the things online because it said they only had them in store Xmas Angry

The queue in the bank was huge and they've got rid of the other 2 banks we used to have(a bit of a drive but I wouldn't have minded if the queue wasn't huge)and a lady that worked there asked if anyone in the queue needed such and such and they all said no and then 2 of the people infront of me did want exactly what she'd asked and what couldn't be done for them by a cashier and 1 of the sodding customers argued the toss(I was waiting behind her and could have rung her neck!)I usually love Christmas shopping but I can not stand rude people and it's even worse when a shop employs young adults that mess around and act like school children.

I'm sorry you hurt your ankle OP and the Mum who swore at you was an arse and so were the customers that swore at you!

I hope tomorrow is better for you Flowers
