Ambulance and NHS staff; What can we do to help?

Ive been watching a lot of these whats your emergency and ambulance shows recently. I was just wondering what we could all do to help these amazing people when they are so overworked and under paid. There must be something.

Midwives, Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses etc. They are all such amazing people and deserve any help and appreciation we can give them. Especially with the NHS being as stretched as ever before. I would urge everyone to be sure they need emergency care before ringing 999, but if you need them please do ring them and dont leave to chance.

I would also urge anyone whos thinking about going into this career to look into it too, because its going to be the best thing you ever do and anyone reading this, if you do any of these jobs. Thank you!

I am in awe when I watch these types of programmes. I wish the politicians who make the decisions watch them, but somehow I doubt it.

It tears my heart to pieces watching them, and can’t believe the pressure and stress which is a ‘normal’ part of the job.

@afronavon I feel exactly the same, currently watching an episode of ambulance and just watching the amount of calls they get in every hour and watching how lovely these people are to all their patients regardless of the back log in the hospital, people queuing on the corridors for 24 hours to get a bed in a&e and also seeing people call 999 for a cough (which has always annoyed me). These people are amazing! I would honestly love to do that job and help save lives (ive always wanted to) but due to where i live, not driving and the fact 18 weeks pregnant means i cant right now :(

Dont vote Tory or Brexit. Oops, too late!

the amount of people who ring up on those shows and I always think 'RING A TAXI!' you don't need an ambulance for half of those phone calls.

@gulitynetter ikr. If you have a cough, get medicine from the shop (not on prescription either.. ) dont get so drunk you need an ambulance, dont take drugs. It would make their jobs so much easier if these people didnt take up valuable beds and time when its all avoidable and/or self-treatable...
