Portsmouth people - was that a nuclear red alert test?

Anyone else hear that the alarm? I’m on the edge of the city but heard it clearly from the garden - it’s tested 3 times a year but not in December. Just wondering what it was!

Did it sound like an old 'all clear' air raid siren? Matchwood use that when that are moving live ammo and I hear it sometimes.

Sounded like the NBCD alarm - followed by a verbal command which I couldn’t make out. The carrier came home this morning, perhaps it was her alarm.

I use the Portsmouth train line. Please don't give them another bank of excuses for late running trains. Today's was signalling issues at Portsmouth.

Pretty sure that would have been something to do with Hms QE as she was due in between 1320 & 1350 (she can only come in on the height of the flood tide). When they do test the alarm it’s usually about 0900.
