Anyone else hate having a larger chest?

I don't know if I will ever go through with having a reduction but I am so, so sick of my boobs and I have been ever since I hit puberty. They were always been bigger than my peers' and attracted comments throughout school and now seem to have settled at around 34G, which I appreciate isn't all that big compared to some people.

I absolutely cannot, for the life of me, find a bra that is comfortable. I make do during the day but can't bear to wear one inside the house or I can't relax. The problem is, when I do take my bra off, I can feel them hanging off my body and pressing on my stomach. The feeling disgusts me and I want to rip them off. When I'm lying in bed or curled up on the sofa I feel these heavy sacks hanging off my chest and getting in my way. I have backache most days and the feeling of relief when I hold them up is immense.

I dress like a frump and have done since I was about 13. I can't wear a anything with a low neckline, a high neckline, backless, too tight, too baggy, with thin straps. I hate leaving the house because it involves getting dressed, and that involves finding something to stuff my boobs into. They have been saggy since they appeared so I've felt like an old woman since I was a young teenager.

I feel so jealous when I see women with small boobs because it's something I will never have, and have never had basically since I was in primary school.

Thanks for listening to my rant. I'm feeling particularly down about it today and feel like I want to go and claw them off. Anyone else feel similarly?

I used to have great breasts. Beautifully shaped perky DDs. They suited my frame perfectly, fit in clothes easily, were just small enough for pretty bras, held themselves up. Breast feeding has ruined them. Now a droopy f cup. Back hurts, clothes don’t quite accommodate them, Bras that work are difficult to find, I look matronly. I really miss my old boobs.

Ollivander84 · 09/12/2018 23:03

I felt better once I had bras that were comfy. Mostly wear flirtelle, elomi or bravissimo and Molke for at home. TBH at night I'm braless but the feeling doesn't bother me
I'm a 34JJ/32K but no back issues etc (apart from lower back but that's from spinal surgery!)

LikeLadyGodiva · 09/12/2018 23:06

30FF here. Size 10/12 but certain shirts, tops etc are a no go. My boobs can make me look frumpy and top heavy.
I’d like to wear strappy tops or dresses in summer but all my bras have pretty thick straps and I’d look weird anyway with how big they are. I find wrap tops and dresses never cover them even though certain wrap styles could be flattering if they made them for big boobs (I know Bravissimo do a couple of these in their clothing range).
I find exercise more difficult / painful even though I have decent sports bras.
However, I see some ladies with very flat chests and I wouldn’t swap my figure with them. I do feel more feminine with my boobs despite all my moaning . I just wish I could show them off nicely !

SwingoutSisterSledge · 09/12/2018 23:07

I'm with you but Bravissimor is the way to go . Fantastic service I'm 34 HH couldnt wear anything without their range of bra's forget M&S or Debenhams northing comes close to their bra's or fitting

MrsBobtonTrent · 09/12/2018 23:08

I had a fitting in a posh independent shop a few years ago and bought one £80(!) bra. It was such a revelation. I buy exactly the same bra online (prima donna) in last seasons colour (usually on french websites) for £25-30 a go. But getting properly fitted for size and style was key. I am apparently 30JJ, but never wore close to this before.

SwingoutSisterSledge · 09/12/2018 23:08

Nothing !!

Wauden · 09/12/2018 23:09

I found that losing weight helped me

Ollivander84 · 09/12/2018 23:16

I lost weight and 2 back sizes and absolutely nothing volume wise 😭
So went from a 36J to a 32K. That was helpful Grin

CarrieBlu · 09/12/2018 23:16

OP I could have written this post, word for word. I’m the same size as you and it has had all the same negative effects on my life. Unfortunately I’m terrified of surgery so I’ll never do anything about it.

If it reassures you at all, I didn’t get much bigger in size during pregnancy, and once my milk supply had settled I was back to my normal size and have maintained that for the past two years whilst long term breastfeeding. I haven’t had the drastic sagging effects that some women complain about due to breastfeeding either (though maybe that’s just because they’re massive and saggy already - FML).

I haven’t really got anything to say to make you feel better, but I do sympathise. It’s really shit and I would love to be a C cup.

caddywally · 09/12/2018 23:19

I used to live near Cardiff and they had a Bravissimo, but I moved away a while ago and unfortunately there isn't one near me. I have been eyeing up their supportive nightwear for a while so might take the plunge and order online. I'm even further way from a Rigby & Peller! I'm don't have masses of spare cash but if I could find somewhere that could make me like my boobs I would throw money at them.

NotScrewingUpNow · 09/12/2018 23:21

My 32H's look like two deflating wrinkly balloons after breastfeeding. Would love a reduction to a D cup.

Holidayshopping · 09/12/2018 23:22

I’m a 34ff and quite happy in my Bravissimo bras-I would definitely go and get yourself measured properly. Have you done BOB?

Molke are good for home wear-comfy and keep them in one place!

caddywally · 09/12/2018 23:23

CarrieBlu I'm sorry you're in the same boat. It sucks. Thanks for sharing your experiences with breastfeeding and having kids. It has reassured me slightly but I suppose you don't know how your body is going to react until you live it. In a weird way I feel like I have nothing to lose with regards to sagging and stretch marks as they've been like that forever, so I have nothing to miss.

Mumof1andacat · 09/12/2018 23:29

I was wearing a 34dd. I messed myself using the method on the boob or bust website. Came out at a 32g. I now order my bras online.

caddywally · 09/12/2018 23:30

Holidayshopping I just tried BOB and apparently am a 30JJ. I am sceptical as a 32 has me gasping for air, even if I go a few cup sizes up.

Mumof1andacat · 09/12/2018 23:31

Measured *

PickAChew · 09/12/2018 23:31

Around 32GG and they've got steadily bigger as I've passed through my adult life - I could get away without a bra in my early 20s!

Ive sent back many a cute top that made me look like a sofa.

Unlike a pp, though, I've not needed to go up to a 18. I did buy some 16 tops, but I actually have quite narrow shoulders and found the neckline too gapey to be decent. I just don't buy clothes that aren't cut in a way that fits me and reasonably accommodates the ladies, any more.

PatricksRum · 09/12/2018 23:35

34I. Backpain is horrendous. Just having a bra on for 5 minutes aches.

supergrains · 09/12/2018 23:38

It's worth trying the 30JJ caddy
I could have written your op, although I feel I can disguise the size of my boobs (in the winter only) only by looking like I'm 2 stone heavier than I actually am Sad my wardrobe doesn't reflect the true me.
I would love just to wear a normal white T-shirt. I just can't.
I've pretty much decided to get a reduction (private), I'm more scared of having big boobs forever than I am of the surgery.
I'm in my 40s now, no kids, but just want to be able to run for a bloody bus/train/plane without having to hold my tits, just once!
I feel like my boobs have dragged me down for too long...and for me surgery is the only way. I tried being very underweight and money on expensive bras, they both help a lot, but don't solve the fundamental issue.

Caribbeanescape · 10/12/2018 00:01

I feel just like you OP. I agree with everything you said. I am a 36H and feel uncomfortable all the time. I can’t be without a bra, I even wear a soft non-wired one to bed. I cannot find a swimsuit that fits anymore. I can’t buy a coat that actually does up.

I am sorry to tell you that they got bigger with each baby.

I would love a reduction but don’t have the money.

caddywally · 10/12/2018 00:07

supergrains I will give it a go - maybe it'll prove me wrong. Good luck if you decide to go ahead with the surgery. I imagine the relief afterwards will be immense. Not having to think about boobs would be so freeing.

BoswellandForshort · 10/12/2018 00:35

36J here and I’ve come to love them, although I went through a period of considering a reduction. The turning point for me was when I got properly fitted and found decent bras that actually supported me.

I wear scoop neck and v-neck tops in a close fit. I understand why some people don’t want to show them off but I feel much more confident in fitted clothes than baggy ones. They’re pretty obvious so there’s no use hiding them, and I look better in clothes that don’t try to disguise them.

caddywally · 10/12/2018 01:08

BoswellandForshort How did you learn to love them? Did they just seem like less of a hindrance when you were properly fitted?

OP posts:
halfwitpicker · 10/12/2018 01:15

I'm with Boswells on this. As she says there's no point in hiding them really, it's often more flattering if they're dressed well, even if this means showing them more. I find I look slimmer and feel more confident if they're streamlined.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 10/12/2018 05:33

i feel exactly the same OP it's knocked my confidence massively. After seeing how fantastic holly willoughby looks after her breast reduction I've decided surgery is the only option so i'm having it done next year
