I'm selling an item. I bought it in good faith brand new and didn't question if it was real or not. To be honest its not a rolex or a Tiffany necklace so it didn't even cross my mind. I put it for sale on my local selling site and it went straight away. I was asked if it was genuine so I replied yes. But then that got the cogs in my brain whirring and after a bit of digging around I found that this particular item is regularly counterfeited.
I've looked online at videos and it appears to be genuine. However I do not want to rip anyone off or get into trouble. Does anyone have any experience as to whether I can get it verified by trading standards? I don't mind cancelling the sale but if I can find some way of veryfing the authenticity I'd have a happy customer and I'd sleep happy without worrying if I'll get my collar felt
