Dd has asked for a Gingerbread man who runs away!! Any ideas?

So dd 4 has just done her Christmas list and she would love a Gingerbread who can run as fast as you can!! She was very disappointed when the Christmas Gingerbread man came out as he doesn't move. Does such a thing exist? I've had a quick google check and nothing is jumping out at me so would be grateful for ideas.

She has also asked for a bath bomb and a "tiny" tub of slime. Her little list is just so sweet compared to her older siblings!!

You need to buy her the book..
Maybe you can make a gingerbread man and bit the feet off...

nutroasthatingveggie · 09/12/2018 19:38

What about a gingerbread man puppet? At least you or her can pretend to make it run away!

Lulu1919 · 09/12/2018 19:43

Have you got friends or family who dont live close by or travel...could they take a pic of a basic gingerbread man ..like Selfies of him at different places ??? So he looks like he’s runing around the UK or further ?

Orchard toys do a gingerbread man board game

FauxFox · 09/12/2018 19:50

Or a costume? Either for her to wear or for you (or if you have a dog?) so you can run away for her 😂

tissuesosoft · 09/12/2018 19:51

Oh I like the Homebase one! Cute Smile

bobstersmum · 09/12/2018 19:57

If they do a gingerbread costume for a dog she can have our dog. He's ace at running off!

Nicpem1982 · 09/12/2018 20:04

Orchard games - do a game called run run as fast as you can. My 4 yr old loves it and it might fit the bill

theclockticksslowly · 09/12/2018 21:10

A Greggs paper bag with a few crumbs left in it - that gingerbread man made a quick getaway...

MammyShark · 09/12/2018 21:14

Ahhhh that's cute OP, I have a toddler obsessed with the gingerbread man story too! Clicked on your thread hoping to find a link to something he'd love... just bought the puppets GreenKangaroo linked to, so thanks both! DS will love them Smile

Thesearmsofmine · 09/12/2018 21:18

How about making a story sack for the gingerbread man?

lostlalaloopsy · 09/12/2018 21:24

Thank you all for the replies!!! I didn't even think of a Gingerbread costume. I think I will go for the hand puppet as she will be able to play with all her little people she already has.

I absolutely love your idea lulu, we have friends in Australia who could do this with us and my dd would love it!

mammyshark isn't it funny the things they get into?!

Thanks everyone x

@greenkangaroo, I had that puppets by post fox and gingerbread. I thought the fox was a bit too wussy, so had to butch him up a bit by colouring in his pretty paws with a brown felt tip pen ........
Grin

The gingerbreads were fabulous though.

gaggiagirl · 09/12/2018 21:26

Tiny pots of slime are available at primark for £1 they are small yogurt pot sized.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 09/12/2018 21:43

Not running, but one you can wriggle with as fast as you can!

fairyqueen · 09/12/2018 21:47

Add a note from Santa saying he got her a gingerbread man but it ran away, so here’s a puppet instead.

NewName54321 · 09/12/2018 21:52

Remind her Santa doesn’t do livestock and get the puppet.

AdaColeman · 09/12/2018 21:53

I had this book when I was a little girl.

My Gingerbread Man really did run, aided by paper tabs at the edges of the pages, he could move his legs and other characters moved their arms.
I treasured him, looked after him carefully, and years later passed my much loved but undamaged book on to my own little boy.

He too loved the running Gingerbread Man, but he only lasted a few days before he was too injured to ever run again.
There is a moral to this story, but I have yet to figure it out! Xmas Smile

How about a letter from him?
