Anyone fractured their calcaneus by landing heavily on it? How much did it hurt and was it obviously fractured?
I climbed down on to a (sturdy sensible wooden) chair on Saturday morning and the chair collapsed and I landed on one heel (then crumpled to the floor). Today my heel looks bigger than the other and I still can't weight bear on it. We don't have walk-ins or "urgent care" centres near us so it's A&E or nothing and I don't like to go there at weekends unless it's an actual emergency. But I can go Monday morning. I know that fractured heels are a bugger to recover from and I don't want to do it more damage by walking on it. I'm icing and elevating it.
Any advice?
No point in going to GP as they are a tiny practice and send everyone to A&E if they can't prescribe an antibiotic for it
