I want one for the festive period but what do I do with it? Do I just leave it out and let guests carve bits off when they are peckish? Does it smell?

Keep it in a cool cupboard just covered up with a muslin cloth or tea towel. Carve bits off as you need it - ideally consume with 3 weeks I think it says. My DM bought a bargain one from Asda last week - it’s amazingly tasty 😋 I didn’t notice a smell!

I had one sent me one year. After cutting into it over Christmas, I then carved it thinly, laid the slices between greaseproof paper, then put the lot in a polythene bag. Froze it and lifted out slices as and when. Think we ate the last with new figs in the early summer.

Would love to be gifted one now.
