Been in bed basically since Thursday night terrible cold symptoms plus body aches and the worse headaches I’ve ever had. Tomorrow I’ve got an event I can’t miss any medicines or pick me ups you can recommend to me please that husband could get from boots/Sainsbury’s or Asda thanks

Lemsip, Night Nurse etc, but ask the pharmacist for recommendations.

Also oranges. Port and brandy, or a hot toddy.

And plenty of water and rest. Call 111 for advice if worried.

Night nurse tablets. Plenty of fluids and sleep.

What is the event that you simply can't miss? If you have flu there is no way you'll be at the event tomorrow :-(

If you’re really feeling that poorly with cold/flu symptoms you should stay at home in bed.
Apart from making yourself feel worse by going out you could also potentially pass it on to lots of other people. Not a very considerate thing to do this close to Christmas op.

Cold is not flu. It's not.
It maybe a heavy cold and I hope you feel better soon but if you are able to post, not sure you have flu even if you are in bed.

Day and night nurse. I swear by it, it’s fantastic!

Hottest bath you can bear, painkillers washed down with a tot of whiskey and off to bed early.
