Bookshops in Skipton, Yorkshire

Please, if anyone lives in Skipton or knows the town well, could you tell me which places there are currently to buy books?

Background: I'm spending Christmas in rural Yorkshire and will have a shopping day in Skipton. I don't have a car/can't drive (I'm arriving there by train mid morning and then being picked up later in the afternoon). I want to buy books for some of my Christmas gifts and really don't want to use Amazon or online shopping; I'd much rather support a local retailer. Therefore of someone could let me know about places to buy books in Skipton, I'd be super grateful. Thanks.

Hmm, I’m struggling to think. There’s a WHSmiths on the high street but that’s it really. No Waterstones or anything like that. Also an Oxfam bookshop at the top of the high street but apart from that I can’t think of anything else!

Like PP your choices are very limited, there's WH Smiths, Oxfam book shop and The Works. If you want book shops you'd be better off getting the train to Leeds

Agree with getting the train to Leeds (or even Bradford) for better choices. Just check trains before you travel due to the train strikes Smile

There’s Grove Books in Ilkley, about 20 miles away, if you fancied a day out in Ilkley instead.

10 miles, sorry!

Thanks, everyone, WHSmith, The Works, and Oxfam will be great!

Really appreciate your insider knowledge. Merry Christmas to all! Xmas Smile
