Yes. Need to take them out and put on tray with phones etc to go through security though

EduCated · 08/12/2018 11:07

Yes. I’ve never had to take them out though.

cowfacemonkey · 08/12/2018 11:08

Yes some airports make you take them out at security but not all, I just keep them at the top my hand luggage and ask if they need to come out

Yes. As PP said, take them (and any other electric devices) out and put in tray separately as you go through security.

lostinjapan · 08/12/2018 11:11

Yes. I've never had to take them out at security.

Stringofpearls · 08/12/2018 11:15

Yes you can take them and you won't need to take them out at security.

Idontknowwhyinfrench · 08/12/2018 11:35

Depends which airport

Bromeliad · 08/12/2018 11:35

You'll need to take them out at Manchester, but other airports don't bother. I've found it varies massively (even in the same airport - looking at you Schiphol).

thedevilinablackdress · 08/12/2018 11:43

Most airports just ask for laptops and tablets to be taken out, if anything. But fine to take through. Think there was an issue years (decades) ago when curling tongs operated by wee gas cannisters were popular?

LAlady · 08/12/2018 11:53

I always take mine in hand luggage. After my case got misplaced in transit in Miami I make sure they are with me!

Planesmistakenforstars · 08/12/2018 12:12

Have taken them in hand luggage several times recently from Heathrow and Gatwick, never had a problem.

charliecheese · 08/12/2018 13:51

Brilliants thanks very much all.

Depends which airport
Security rules are the same everywhere in the EU.

fleuriepeninsula · 08/12/2018 14:42

You do not have to take them out for security. It’s (generally) only computers, not electronics, that need to be presented separately.

Monger there are subtle differences between EU airports - Oslo for example makes you take cameras out of your bag for separate screening.

Fluffyears · 08/12/2018 16:10

You don’t need to present ypunphone separately. I leave mine in my bag, less chance it will get stolen. Tablets and laptops must be scanned separately.

GreenKangaroo · 08/12/2018 17:05

You don’t have to take them out unless it is Manchester who have their own rules.
