I seem to have developed a dent in my skull.

Under my fringe at top of skull - there is a definite indent that was not there before- how weird- is it worth going to the doctors or is it another part of growing old

Idk but my mum has developed this too and there was def a thread not so long ago from someone else saying similar!

LondonLassInTheNorthPole · 07/12/2018 23:35

I have one thats becoming more and more apparent, on my forehead

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 07/12/2018 23:42

Me too, a ridge on the very top of my forehead, from my hairline going down diagonally for about one centimetre!

Me too, noticed it a few years ago and it's never got any bigger or smaller.

Calvinsmam · 07/12/2018 23:48

I had this!!! It turned out to be me lying on my Fitbit at night

Brazenhussy0 · 07/12/2018 23:55

I used to have one, but on checking just now it seems to have vanished. It was like a crack rather than a depression though.
Pretty sure it was a result of near impaling my forehead on the hoover handle last year Blush

Can you remember smacking your head on anything recently?

LondonLassInTheNorthPole · 07/12/2018 23:55

Mine is atleast 5cms...

Maginthemirror · 07/12/2018 23:55

Haven’t got a Fitbit but I am reassured it’s nothing deathly as I am not alone x😃

I have one too! Top centre back of my skull, and it wasn’t there when I was a kid. I wonder what they are?

Justaboutawake · 08/12/2018 00:11

I have this. And I’m lucky enough to know a neurosurgeon who told me it’s a normal part of getting older. I’m mid-thirties Sad

theluckiest · 08/12/2018 00:19

YES!! Oh my god, I thought it was just me.
I have a valley developing vertically from my hairline. Just weird. Glad it's not just me...

MeetOnTheSIedge · 08/12/2018 00:36

Thinking back, I think I attributed mine to hitting my head getting into my car whilst wearing sunglasses on top of my head.

Maginthemirror · 08/12/2018 00:36

Glad I posted now- shall sleep more soundly - my groove and me x

inashizzle · 08/12/2018 00:47

Good god, the first time I'd noticed I had an indentation/ groove was around 6pm this evening. Top of my thumb fits perfectly on it . Just this morning seen thread- what the hecks going on !

Atchiclees · 08/12/2018 01:43

I have this too. Top centre of forehead. Only visible in certain lights, covers the area of two 50p pieces. No idea what it is, would feel wrong asking the doc as everything else is fine.

Jinglebells99 · 08/12/2018 08:11

I googled, sounds like you should get it checked out

I'd briefly googled and horrified to see that on healthline jinglebells99. Hopefully someone will come along to say healthline is an unreliable source!

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 08/12/2018 12:36

Well I've had mine for a few years now so I'm presuming it's not serious!

holistichealingnatural · 14/02/2021 17:03

Finding a bump on the head is very common. Some lumps or bumps occur on the skin, under the skin, or on the bone. There are a wide variety of causes of these bumps. In addition, each human skull has a natural bump on the back of the head. Take note of any other symptoms, like headaches, memory loss, and vision difficulties, which could be connected to a dent in your skull.

imacuddler · 10/08/2021 20:41

I've recent noticed this on my cows lick. Googled and this mumsnet thread came up. I bloody love mumsnet!

KVDK11 · 04/03/2022 01:06

Did this ever go away ? Or did you figure out why?

StaplesCorner · 04/03/2022 01:16

Do any of you put your glasses on top of your head? I’ve got massive dents from 25 years of this practice!

I’ve just discovered this , I was freaking out 🤣

Flatmountains · 29/08/2022 23:42

I've got a few dents. And a flat bit. I don't think dents are too worrying, but if you don't know why you have a flat bit, probably best to get it checked out. Mine came from saying hello to a road.
