What present would you like to receive that is hard/impossible to find?

There was a thread recently about nonexistent presents, but what about the ones that DO exist, but are difficult/nearly impossible to obtain?
There is a folk group I like from the 70s that has quite a few albums available digitally, but a few of them are unavailable. Some sites have them in vinyl, but quite a few have already sold out of their vinyl too.
Anyone else have anything they'd love to get?

I had a silver necklace from Debenhams about 12 years ago. It was like those Tiffany floating hearts, but it was a star. It was very cheap - less than £20 and I paid with Nectar points. Anyway, I lost it. I’ve been trying to replace it for 10 years, but have never managed to find anything I liked half as much.

A cd player combined with INTERNET radio in a small size for the kitchen.

AhoyAhoy · 07/12/2018 20:56

Hennessy pure white. Hennessy which you drink over ice. Discovered it 10 years ago in the Caribbean. Barbados I think. Only available on that island.

@redexpat surely that is an amazon echo?

YahBasic · 07/12/2018 21:01

@redexpat John Lewis do one, we bought this for family a couple of years ago here

World peace

Filing that I would love to have the coldest beer in all the world tgat was so cold the bottle frosted but the beer was smooth and crisp. This beer was served in a dive bar in Nicaragua.

AlpacaPicnic · 07/12/2018 21:24

Caramel lindor and caramel MnMs... They were so delicious when I had them in the states last year, but aren't available in this country unless I pay $$$ on amazon.

And a mini-mammoth.

WaterBird · 07/12/2018 21:29

These are all great, especially the combined cd and Internet player.

I want a silver necklace but the one I want doesn't appear to exist except in my head.

Also an Audrey Hepburn Barbie doll and a skirt with flies on it.

BoswelliaGoldMyrrh · 07/12/2018 21:35

Emma Bridgewater white cat mug. I think they were limited edition & only come round on ebay every few months. I'd like a mug to match each of my pets 😸

AhoyAhoy · 07/12/2018 21:45

@BoswelliaGoldMyrrh not emma bridgewater but some lovely mugs on the twinings website, I’m sure I remember looking at some white cat ones.

BoswelliaGoldMyrrh · 07/12/2018 21:54

Thanks Ahoy, but I'm aiming for the matching EB set as a kind of collector's challenge Grin

YahBasic · 07/12/2018 22:01

@AlpacaPicnic I’m sure that the Lindt UK website does pic n mix boxes with a caramel flavour.

One upon a time on eBay I saw a set of flying ducks that were three yellow submarines a la the Beatles, I fell in love with them but missed the end of the auction and they disappeared forever. Every now and then I search for them again, but alas, no joy

marvellousnightforamooncup · 07/12/2018 22:26

A dress that suits me.

Catbot · 07/12/2018 22:30

A crab bell. Or an Alan.

princessbananahammock252 · 07/12/2018 22:33

@AlpacaPicnic - just today I saw a mini pack of caramel crunch m&m! I was initially tempted to buy a pack, but got put off with there only being about 5 m&ms in it! Not sure it's the same flavour though.

AlpacaPicnic · 07/12/2018 22:34

Yahbasic, thank you, yes they do but they are pretty pricey! If I lived near one of the outlets I might go and buy some but £20 for 40 balls (with post and packing) is just a bit too much. The box I bought last year was $5/6.

I just wish that all the amazing flavours available abroad were also on sale here! I don't understand why they aren't...

Deadringer · 07/12/2018 22:37

Pride and prejudice first edition. Or even better the original handwritten novel.

AlpacaPicnic · 07/12/2018 22:37

Princess, no, I got fooled by them! They are not the same... The ones from USA had a smooth chewy caramel in them, like the caramel in a mars bar.
In this country the caramel crunch ones are more like the texture of a matchmaker. They are nice, but not the same...

itssquidstella · 07/12/2018 22:41

A retro 1950s style telephone table - about 70cm high and 30cm wide and deep. Impossible to find!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 07/12/2018 22:41

Those who are after jewellery why not ask a custom designer to make one for you that exactly meets what you want? We had our wedding rings custom made as we couldn't find what we wanted. Was v reasonable considering, we paid about £400 for both - they had a stone in each and were silver. And are perfect for us 😍

Mine is a roger rabbit tsum tsum set which was only available in Disneyland Florida and would cost more than I could justify spending to buy!! And a wreck it Ralph Christmas decoration from the Disney store - went out if stock before i had the money and hasn't been back in stock since. It's my favourite film and would love it as an ornament to display with my others all year round.
