Where’s nice to drive out to from London for the day?

Thinking Christmassy with nice coffee shops. Haven’t had use of a car for years and not drinking this year. Adults only.

Which side of London are you?

North West. Not St Albans I don’t get the fuss about it unless I’m going to the wrong part. Or Windsor too touristy.

If you go up the M40, Wallingford, Thame and Dorchester (Oxon) are nice.

My friend has suggested St Albans. Ive never seen the pull of it but hopefully I’ve just been going to the wrong parts.

Windsor?
Can be done on the train too.

St Albans has a quite nice little Christmas Market.

Windsor doesn’t seem to have the markets midweek

Oxford? Museums, covered market, riverside walk, as well as a Christmas market in town.

Whitstable. Coffee at the continental hotel, walk on the beach, brunch at a nice café in the high street.

Cambridge? But I’d use the park and ride when you get there

We’ve done Cambridge quite abit before

Broadway? Bibury? Bourton on the Water?

Blenheim and then Woodstock.

Bath?

Norwich is lovely. Or is that too far?

Also, Bury St Edmunds and Aldeburgh (if you like the coast)

Winchester has a lovely Christmas market.
