What's for dinner?

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 07/12/2018 16:55

I'm being very naughty and having my second takeaway this week Blush

So my dinner is a chicken shish and donner meat mixed wrap with loads of garlic sauce and salad.
Curly fries
Onion rings
And a huge chunk of chocolate fudge cake for afters.

In fairness, I've had a shit day - so that's my excuse.

What's for dinner tonight?

Ham and mushroom tagliatelle. Hasn't quite hit the spot though!

Northumberlandlass · 07/12/2018 18:18

Just me here tonight, so jacket pot with cheese & coleslaw. Can’t wait!!! I don’t have a microwave so the wait for them to cook is agonising!

Pork chop, chips and asparagus.

We're trying out a simply cook box and having Goan fish curry. Am trying to save money on takeaways but still enjoy special meals with DH.

Should be nice, have been impressed with them so far, the Nyonya was also very good.

  • as a shameless plug, I don't work for them if anyone wants to use my code and get a trial box (recipes) for £1, my code to share is smply.in/NT4422 (I get a free box for anyone who signs up using this code!)
Flowersonthewall · 07/12/2018 18:27

I've just bought some chocolate cake to have with custard once dh is out and the kids are in bed. 😁

Northernmum100 · 07/12/2018 18:27

Salmon in ginger, soy and chilli. New potatoes, steamed carrots and broccoli .

Yoghurt with crushed meringue for pud and there may also be a ginGin

Waitingonasmiley42 · 07/12/2018 18:29

Freezer food: wedges, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, and chicken wings.

There's a bottle of Prosecco and a chocolate snowman for later.

n0ne · 07/12/2018 18:38

Used up what I could find in the fridge - turned into a sort of pasta bol with added courgette and peppers. The fam seemed to like it (I have flu so it tasted like cardboard)

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 07/12/2018 18:43

I've skipped the chocolate fudge cake and had a slice of Baileys cheesecake instead.
Feel like I'm going to pop now.

@pussinwellyboots how are the recipes? I need some inspiration!

Liver and bacon in lots of red wime

MerryCatmas · 07/12/2018 18:45

King Prawn and rice noodle stir fry with carrot & cougette ribbons, red & yellow peppers, water chestnuts, ginger, chilli and coriander.

diamondofdoom · 07/12/2018 18:45

I'm ill and I've been bed bound all day. I've just had a bowl of cereal for dinner, after eating pineapple all day yummmmmm

HotSauceCommittee · 07/12/2018 18:50

All home made today as I’m off work: naan breads and chicken Bhuna (with the sauce blended so the kids will eat it.
Accompanied by the Beastie Boys and the cat as I cook it.

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 18:53

Home made lasagne from freezer leftovers after my dinner party last weekend with actifry sweet potato fries Grin

disconnecteddrifter · 07/12/2018 18:56

I cooked breaded cod in the oven loved it up and put it in a wrap with tartare sauce, cucumber and coriander. Very tasty couldn't be bothered to chip the potatoes

EffEmBee · 07/12/2018 18:56

Super envious of all these inventive dinners. I'm poorly (end stages of a mc) so DH is on dinner duty. Fresh pasta, pesto, garlic bread and delicious wine. Probably chocolate ice cream after.

pussinwellyboots · 07/12/2018 19:00

Whotookthechristmascookie - the recipes are very straightforward, great for trying adventurous food simply, with only about 5 items to buy (although they do use a lot of coconut milk!)

I'm often using more meat and veg so that do and I can have leftovers the next day.

perhapstomorrow · 07/12/2018 19:07

After months of no takeaways, we've got Domino's. All the kids are happy watching harry potter so it's bliss! Takeaway and everyone sitting down enjoying a good film. 😀😀

BadlyAgedMemes · 07/12/2018 19:28

Bunless burgers (beef for DH, bean for me), root veg mash and broccoli. I'm seriously uninspired, and thought about a take away, but this stuff needs using...

halfwitpicker · 07/12/2018 19:30

Chicken.....? Something or other

shecamefromgreece · 07/12/2018 19:35

I did a roast chicken with wedges, corn on the cob and crusty bread for dh and the kids.
I didn't fancy it though so had some left over stew and pickled red cabbage.
I'm debating a glass of red but feeling anxious tonight so not sure it's a good ideaSad

moolady1977 · 07/12/2018 19:41

Sausage and chips with carrots, sprouts and onion gravy. Not eaten all day so I've now got the munchies and keep looking in the fridge

SilentBob · 07/12/2018 19:43

Lamb shank, mash, broccoli. Wine. Mince pie. Baileys hot chocolate. Another mince pie.

I'm up to stage wine so far, and very very full and content so the remainder of the menu might have to wait til tomorrow.
