I’ve received a letter today from the local council, advising me that because of my daughters school attendance I need to attend a meeting to discuss it, and if there is no improvement, I will likely be prosecuted.
Now this would be all well and good if she had been skiving days off school, but she has had 2 weeks off because of an accident IN SCHOOL, and caused by a teacher, that the school are well aware of. She ended up needing hospital treatment, and then a course of antibiotics because it got infected. She couldn’t walk or put on a shoe, and was told by doctors to stay home and keep it elevated.
Is this meeting compulsory? I have rang the direct dial number on the letter, but no answer. I have also called the school but they seem unable to help.
Any advice is truly appreciated, I’m absolutely furious.
