Dog friendly pubs/restaurants?

I'm not a dog owner. Can take them or leave them.

There are many pubs around where I live which are dog friendly. It's a good place for country walks so I can see the appeal in combining a dog walk with a pint afterwards.

However I just saw this today - it's a pub/restaurant near to me. I am assuming that this was taken in the snug area i.e. not the main dining area although bar snacks are served here.

The dog is on a chair.

I don't see the need for that. The dog should be on the floor. Chairs are for humans. The next person to come along could be wearing black trousers - which will then be coated in dog hair, or even worse, white jeans - who knows what stains could show up?

What's your verdict mnetters?

I am tempted to email the pub and ask if this is the norm, or they just took the pic for publicity?

Dog owner here.

Don't agree with dogs being on chairs in pubs. Dog hair is fucking annoying and also for people with allergies.

Dogs are perfectly fine on the floor.
