Seems like a big step backwards (no photo editing?)!

I’ve bought one for my DD for Christmas - she’s been asking for one for ages

A couple of her friends have them - they’re quite cool, although the photos are a bit shit

DD has a load of normal photos printed as Polaroid photos a little while ago. I think the retro-ness is the point

I have one, it has been so much fun. Add alcohol or a small child for instant fun.

After a family party I was described by a small child as, "the magic lady" after showing her how to take photos with a camera.

Nah, I had one about 5 years ago, used it once or twice and it's been in a cupboard ever since. Pointless really when prints are so cheap and phone photos are so good. The films are extortionate too.

Teenage dc wants one... seems expensive and I'm sure they'll get bored of it very quickly (especially since they have an iPhone...) Is there an alternative, like one with a digital Display?

Would something like a sprocket work instead? It's a small printer about the size of a phone that connects to your phone via Bluetooth. It prints little photos like the instax. It doesn't use ink it take zinc photo paper instead.

My niece has one and loves it - she was doing a photography A level and found it useful. You can buy double packs of the films much more cheaply at branches of Hema, if anyone can get to those (they're in London, not sure where else?).

People love Polaroid’s at parties
