Starting new job NERVES! any help?

Starting a new job on Monday. I've been a SAHM for a while now, my DS is almost 2. I'm SO freaked out.
I'm stressed about leaving my DS in nursery and feeling guilty for that.
I'm stressed about being the 'newcomer' in a job and feeling like I'm being watched when I have no idea what I'm doing!
I'm dreading to think how bad I'll feel on Sunday night.

Any help or advice to stop me working myself up? I know it's irrationalSad

I'm starting new job on Monday too.
My advice is to enjoy your weekend and forget about Monday.
Yes, newcomer and yes youll be watched but they also want you to do well as that's the objective of hiring someone new - to help them.
Do your best and I'm sure you'll be fine

@Teensandfuture ahhh congratulations to you as well.

I'm quite an outgoing person usually but in circumstances like a new job I get so shy and awkward! Confused

I started a new job today and honestly I nearly didn't get out the door because I felt so anxious and shy/embarrassed. First couple hours were horrendous because I was so worried about people getting mad if I did something wrong but then as I got more into it you realise they just want to help. People understand that we all start from no where, we are all human! It's okay to be nervous and completely normal..the people you worry about at your new job once felt the same.

Good luckGrinThanksStar

@ihateusernamess thank you!! I think I know I'll be fine after the first day or two, it's just the initial turning up on the first day and not knowing where to be/what to do!

I also started a new job today,i was worried that i would nt be able to get everything done in time(but i managed to do everything) it was abit scary for the first hour then i found myself enjoying it.As a pp said enjoy this weekend,And you ve got this! xFlowers

I've been in my job for years and I still get that Sunday night dread Grin

Anyway Congratulations! It's just the nerves and the most important part is already done: Interviewing + getting the job. Think of how you'd encourage your DS to manage on his first day! You'll be fine. And it's okay to ask someone their name if you don't remember it lest you leave it for 6 months and then can't ask because frankly that would be very awkward!

Good luck to you, for Monday. Just remember everyone there will have been new at some point. Everyone's been the newbie. Try to make the best impression you can, be friendly and professional and make notes if they're explaining a lot at once. I hated leaving my dd when she was tiny but it does get easier and you could call to check in at lunchtime.

((Super silly comment but i always feel better when I feel I look nice, I'd be getting my nails done over the weekend and a new outfit. ))
