Fitbit/pedometer without using smartphone?

Help - my DM has decided she’d like a “Fitbit type of thing” for Christmas so she can make sure she increases her step count. But she doesn’t want to use an app, or should I say, she doesn’t want to learn how to use an app on her phone and doesn’t care about heart rate, sleep tracking etc. So there’s no point in spending a lot of cash on something with bells and whistles.

There are a few Fitbit type knock off fitness trackers on Amazon etc - would this be ok? Or are the old clip on pedometers accurate enough??
Cheers

The clip on ones are fine but she won't be able to wear them on her wrist, if that's what she's after.

Most of the wearables are designed for use with an app, but you don't have to actually USE the app – the screen will tell you how many steps you've taken during the day.

My parents both have MiiFits (as did I before I went FitBit) and they were/are good. www.amazon.co.uk/Xiaomi-Mi-Band-Smartwatch-Bluetooth-Black/dp/B01N011RPS/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=mii+fit&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1544184135&sr=8-3
