Budget bank account

Is there such a thing as a budget or cash flow bank account?

An account that shows you balance and also critically your disposable balance after your preprogrammed anticipated monthly outgoings. Something where you put the day your mobile payment goes out and amount, day and amount rent, day and amount council tax etc etc.

I think there's another one. I'll post again if I think of it.

That's two links above. I'll post them separately:

Lovely, thank you.

Have you used either of them?

The squirrel one looks great exactly what I had in mind, except for the weekly charge!

No just heard of them. Sorry didn't realise one had a weekly charge

I swear by Monzo. Really useful for budgeting.

Or you could just get 2 accounts, one for your direct debits, one for your spending.

Standing order once a month to the direct debit account to cover the months direct debits and don't touch it for anything else. Spend from the other account.

Monzo is brilliant. Me and my husband have them. We transfer our personal ‘spends’ to our monzo and then use our joint account to pay for joint things. The monzo account takes money out instantly which makes things easier to manage. It’s also great to transfer money to fellow monzo-ers. It’s been a game changer for me and anyone else I know who has it.

I dont know if they exist now but they did and one of my Lloyds accounts i still call my cash flow account!

All my bills went out of it and I transferred a set standing order monthly into it. It came with a cheap £2000 overdraft. Its still got it but not as cheap to use anymore (not that I ever have, luckily)
