My 1st baby was a terrible sleeper and all I wanted was for new baby DS to be a good sleeper... Well he is! But I'm awake at 5am whilst he snores away...

I found the expectation of being woken up made it hard for a while. Once I got used to it I started sleeping like a log.

My sleep has never gone back to its pre children quality.

Yes... Must be that my body just expects to wake up. Boo!

How does that old lullaby go?
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping
I my loved ones' watch am keeping,
All through the night

Shall I be the first to ask if he's ok? Hope so.

midnight1983 · 06/12/2018 11:54

@3in4years yes he's fine thank you. It's not that unusual to sleep through at 6 weeks.

DS2 was a terrible sleeper. DD slept a minimum of 8 hours every night until 16 weeks, and I was awake waiting for her to wake up!
I won’t tell you what happened at 16 weeks...! Confused

Sorry. Mine went to A&E when a bit poorly as a newborn. Biggest sign it got serious was when she slept 4 hours without waking for a feed. I was told they should wake frequently at that age. Enjoy your rest!

midnight1983 · 06/12/2018 12:19

@3in4years I'm sorry to hear that, I hope she is fine now? My first never slept on his own at all! But new baby has slept in good blocks of sleep right from the start so I'm not concerned. Thanks for asking.

@LadyCassandra oh I'm waiting for the change any day now...maybe that's why I woke up!

My 15 week old DD slept 12 hours last night, I managed 6. I feel your pain.

3in4years · 06/12/2018 15:54

She's 3 now! Thanks

midnight1983 · 06/12/2018 17:21

@voxnihili that's a bad ratio 👎
