My mother came down from Scotland last week. She made me corned beef hash. I had this tonight. It was gorgeous. It got me thinking would it replace her spaghetti Bolognese as a last meal. Mmm possibly.

Three options - steak cooked perfectly, green salad, bearnaise sauce, cold Chardonnay.

Seafood linguine. With a bit of chilli.

Or perfect Beef Wellington.

Highly unlikely the prison kitchen will be turning any of these dishes out.

Spaghetti and meatballs with Greek salad and Barefoot White Zinfandel.

I would want a massive carb fest! Peanut butter toast on thick bread with real butter! Loads of crisps!! Chips!! Or a massive McDonald's, big Mac, mozzarella dippers, large fries! Probably not allowed but lots of wine or gin.

Forgot to add hot home made treacle tart with custard and a bit of vanilla ice cream.

Oh yes. I was agonising over my last meal. But you’re so right: Indian all the way. I’d have a jalfrezi, plus daal and garlic naan.

Washed down with - if allowed - three bottles of cheap red.

Big bottle of gin, few bottles of tonic, a bottle of white Rioja and a bottle of Malbec.

Then the rarest, most tender fillet steak with wedges, onion rings and peppercorn sauce.

Tiramisu and pretzel flips for puds!

Serrano ham, marinated green olives and salted almonds with a couple of glasses of very cold dry white wine.
Then a lamb leg steak, pink in the middle, fine French beans, crunchy roast potatoes. Changing to red wine at this point.
Lemon tart with raspberries and crème fraîche.
Comté and gorgonzola cheeses with Peter's Yard crackers.

They don't actually get anything they want. They generally get whatever they want from the prison menu. It's a really horrible tradition. There's at least one execution taking place tomorrow in the US btw.

Starter - chilli beef nachos with loads of cheese, sour cream and extra jalapeños
Main - carbonara with asda smart price garlic bread (fucking love those greasy things)
Dessert - sticky toffee pudding and piping hot custard !!
Drink - ice cold Budweiser on draft

I'm coeliac so I'd have all the things I miss eating in my normal life. A proper crusty baguette. Decent yorkshire puddings and gravy, with some KFC chicken. A giant Chinese takeaway with spring rolls, char sui bao buns, sesame prawn toast and crispy duck pancakes. Doughnuts. Cookie dough ice cream.
I'm thinking more of an all day grazing carb buffet than a meal...

Thai sweetcorn cakes, yellow Thai curry with egg fried rice and sticky toffee pudding with custard. All swilled down with Cinzano and lemonade. In fact, I may well have this on Christmas day 😁

Lobster. I love it but it always makes me ill. Still if it's mylast meal - who cares!
