Always a bit torn between a nice Dress or something more practical like jumper n jeans

Nice dress, 9am Mass and everyone wears ‘Sunday best’. May change later if we go for a walk, or wear wellies with the dress!

I can't believe people spend the day in pyjamas. I don't think I've ever done that, apart from if I was ill.

I used to do it all the time before I got the dog. Sometimes I'd get up, shower, put on clean PJ's and spend the day snuggled on the sofa! In fact, next week the dog is in daycare and that's exactly what I plan on doing all day!

Yeah, I do shower and put on something clean even on the rare days I don't go anywhere, and only wear "lounge wear" (is that the correct term for pyjama-like stuff that you don't actually sleep in?).

Pyjamas really?
We spent many years at the in-laws in full black tie regalia.
Now it's just a nice dress sparkly top kind of thing.

LucyMorningStar · 08/12/2018 14:04

I envy people who dress up, I never had the need to and it always made feel a little sad. I love special occasions but there are so few of them in my life and Christmas day has never been one of them. Maybe I should start a new tradition for myself and dress up just because 😁

TinselBee · 08/12/2018 14:12

PJs till after our traditional bacon sandwiches have been consumed at around 10am. Then something sparkly, could be jeans and a nice top or a nice dress usually. This year my Nan bought me a lovely playsuit so I'll be wearing that even though it shall only be me, DH and DS.

It's nice to get a bit dressed up. Each to their own though!

thedevilinablackdress · 08/12/2018 14:20

Jeans! Good lord.
I'll be wearing something with an elasticated waist 😁

DailyMailFail101 · 08/12/2018 14:24

Jumper and jeans comfy and practical!

BatsAreCool · 08/12/2018 14:28

This is why I won't ever go out for Christmas dinner as I would have to get dressed up which would spoil the day for me as it's all about relaxing.

OrcinusOrca · 08/12/2018 14:41

Just normal clothes. Can't imagine dressing up for xmas dinner when it's at home.

Screamqueenz · 08/12/2018 14:56

This dress from LK Bennett

What are you wearing Christmas Day?
Screamqueenz · 08/12/2018 15:04

And the dogs all have sequined Christmas collars 🐶🎅

IAmNotLikeThat · 08/12/2018 15:06

We’re both naturists so nothing except for some tinsel in strategic places.

WoodpeckersAreWood · 08/12/2018 15:15

Pjs with a sci fi themed Xmas T-shirt

I really know how to go to town....

BubblesBubblesBubbles · 08/12/2018 15:19

We normally stay in our pj’s till about 11am.

Then we all get changed ready for lunch at about 1pm.

This year will probably be jeans and Christmas jumpers or t-shirts, as we are staying home and are not hosting.

If I’m hosting then yes we all get dressed up by this I mean a dress, heels etc.

If we decide to go and see my parents we might wear something else haven’t decided yet.

Boxing Day is spent in pj’s. As I normally refuse to leave the house.

Wingbing · 08/12/2018 15:20

My new Christmas jumper

What are you wearing Christmas Day?
bellsbuss · 08/12/2018 15:26

Little black dress and hopefully some very nice shoes I've asked OH for Smile

DiaryofWimpyMum · 08/12/2018 15:29

Jeans and a nice jumper then back into PJs. New ones hopefully

Vicliz24 · 08/12/2018 15:33

Christmas T-shirt and leggings. We used to dress up but since Christmas jumpers came round we all wear them and trackies / leggings. Everyone is comfy

FourFuxxakes · 08/12/2018 16:50

If I get dressed at all on Christmas Day I'll wear my Christmas jumper and a pair of jeans.

toolazytothinkofausername · 08/12/2018 17:05

PJs. Comfort is king.

HashTagLil · 08/12/2018 18:39

I'll be looking something like this.

What are you wearing Christmas Day?
QueenofLouisiana · 08/12/2018 19:04

A bikini. Will put on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt for a walk and to do some chilled yoga in the morning.

A 50s style dress in the evening for dinner.

It’s probably pretty clear that we aren’t spending Christmas in the U.K.

Brigante9 · 08/12/2018 19:39

As we'll be going to Church now that I've made a snap decision to go to my parents, I'll be wearing my 'Christmas clothes'. The dh thinks this is hilarious so I haven't worn nice clothes for years, plus it's not practical walking the dogs and mucking out the horse, who, yes, needs seeing to even on Christmas day!

Brigante9 · 08/12/2018 19:40

Oh and a swimsuit on Boxing Day because some of my family are nuts and want to do their traditional swim in the sea. The North sea!
