I feel like there is lots of judgement on this thread!

Yes, some people really enjoy getting dressed up for Christmas Day.

And, other people like to chill out in pyjamas all day.

Nobody is better. It’s just different!

I am in the middle and will probably wear jeans but might go for a nice top.

Have a great day everyone!

bluejelly · 05/12/2018 23:35

I agree with @Flower777 Smile

Also massive respect to anyone working Christmas Day Star

KeepingEveryoneSafe · 05/12/2018 23:47

PJ's but if my brother decides to come for Christmas dinner then...who am I kidding I'll still wear PJ's Grin

Bluesheep8 · 06/12/2018 06:09

Jeans and a jumper, probably not even a christmassy one. This is to go and volunteer at a community centre hosting a lunch for elderly people alone at Christmas. Then jogging bottoms and a cosy top for our Christmas day supper when we get home.

frogface69 · 06/12/2018 06:18

My onesie.
If I had company , Chanel.

Roystonv · 06/12/2018 06:22

Smart black trousers (with a bit of stretch!), naice top and black ballet pumps with crystal type decoration. Comfy yet smart.

Frenchfancy · 06/12/2018 06:32

Always dress up for Christmas day, and I insist that the rest of the family do too.

gamerwidow · 06/12/2018 06:34

Probably jeans/leggings and layers. Will get hot cooking then cold sitting around after lunch. Would dress up more if it was a year I wasn’t hosting though.

Tidythatmess · 06/12/2018 06:38

Think I'm usually comfy but smart too. Like a sparkly Christmas jumper or top with a skirt but thick tights and pumps. Never a fancy dress or heels as I like to be comfortable and I've got a toddler to wrestle with Grin. After dinner and when all the photos have been taken then it's festive pyjamas and fluffy socks.
On boxing day it's new pjs and socks all day....my favourite day of the year.

Jaimx86 · 06/12/2018 06:52

A ‘vintage’ Christmas jumper and jeans when I call to my parents for breakfast (round the corner) and to walk the dog. I spotted the very cheesy 80s jumper a couple of years ago and fell it love with it straight away- it’s like one I wore on Xmas day as a child Smile

Then we have a large family outing for champagne lunch and cocktails and I’ll be wearing the dress attached or a jumpsuit.

For the after party at my house (most people change before coming back) I’ll wear opaque tights and a midi dress, or a sparkly skirt and black jumper - something I can comfortably move around in without looking like a slob as I host.

I still need to decide Xmas Eve - my favourite night out of the year.

What are you wearing Christmas Day?
adaline · 06/12/2018 07:49

Probably jeans/jeggings and a Christmas jumper! The dog will need walking twice so it'll have to be something cosy and presentable so I might as well look festive at the same time :)

IncyWincyGrownUp · 06/12/2018 08:16

Whatever is clean really. There’s no point dressing up for the day, it’s just a day that has to be endured like any other. The children will probably stay in pyjamas as we’re not going out.

WishfulSprouts · 06/12/2018 08:17

I’ve got a couple of nice shirt dresses that are new so one of those, tights and boots.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 06/12/2018 08:18

Clarification: a day for us to endure.

I’m not passing judgement on others’ days and sartorial choices. We’re just a house full of grumpy buggers with ASD who don’t like all this change and palaver! :o

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 06/12/2018 08:21

Black cigarette trousers that are a bit big, so will leave room for Christmas lunch. A new top from Mint Velvet.

lpchill · 06/12/2018 08:31

Track suit bottoms and a nice t shirt. I'm having an operation on my knee on the 18th so will still be recovering but at home. My theme this year is comfort and ease. All food and drinks will be out for people to help themselves and I am directing the prep and cooking from the comfort of the sofa.

justforareply · 06/12/2018 08:36

Black skinny jeans and sparkly top. The family dog walk is an integral part of Xmas so I always wear trousers and take boots and an anorak

NoSpend19 · 06/12/2018 08:37

Red dress sparkly make up and heels. Its Christmas and we have a big extended family get together. We dress up.

LardLizard · 08/12/2018 11:58

How people vary so much, I’m still not any clearer but it will either be a comfy jersey type dress or jeans n Xmas jumper

clairebear31 · 08/12/2018 13:19

Usually dress up in a nice dress, tights or nice top

BadlyAgedMemes · 08/12/2018 13:24

Lounge pants and a big cardigan, probably. I'm not planning on leaving the house.

BadlyAgedMemes · 08/12/2018 13:28

Do people sit down for Xmas dinner in pjs? Not judgey by the way just curious.

It's just DH and I, and we take it as a day to chill, so might as well.

I did grow up with a tradition of getting dressed up. I used to get a new dress every year for the school Christmas party, and wear that on the day, too. Everyone dressed up nice. But then again we gathered up as a wider family, so pyjamas would have been more odd. I don't hate the idea of dressing up, but it's just not how I feel comfortable, when relaxing at home.

SherlockHolmes · 08/12/2018 13:31

I can't believe people spend the day in pyjamas. I don't think I've ever done that, apart from if I was ill.

I look shit when I get out of bed in the morning so would hate to spend the whole day like that.

I shall be wearing pearls in order to clutch them.
