Looking for recommendation please. Especially ones that are good at dealing with claims.
And ones to avoid

I've been with direct line for years. Only had one claim but it was absolutely painless - car picked up from my house and courtesy car dropped off, same when repairs completed. No drama over the claim process and the increase in my premium was negligible.

I found direct line to be a pain with a claim. I’m with Admiral and have been for years because they have always price matched to any cheaper quote I have found. No experience of claims.

Hastings direct, someone claimed against me, no real issues at all

I've been with Sainsbury's for years. They were great when someone ploughed into me, sorted everything quickly, replacement car, etc. Good price too.

I'm with Saga. Someone went into the back of us a month ago. It was painless; courtesy car delivered and our car picked up. Didn't have to pay the excess upfront as it was a 'no fault' claim. Call centre were quick to answer and called back when they said they would and I was given a named call handler who dealt with it all (though they outsource claims to a third party).

Can't say what effect it's had on my premium as renewal isn't til September

I'm with Direct Line and found them to be excellent. Two non-fault claims so far this year, one very recent, but everything nicely under control. Repair and courtesy car arranged for next Monday.

I work in insurance claims - Aviva, Direct Line , Ageas are generally good if you have a claim whereas Admiral, NFU and ERS not so. A good uninsured loss recovery policy running alongside a motor policy can make all the difference should you have a claim.

Hastings direct are amazing with claims, I have legal cover with them and the solicitors have been wonderful in the 2 accidents I've had in the past year. Neither of them were my fault, I just had really bad luck twice
