Which exercise can I do?!

I used to swim but I got an infection which led to tinnitus and am scared of this happening again.

I used to walk a lot but have plantar fasciitis so had to give up my daily walks. My knee is also painful, probably as a result of overcompensating gait.

All these body ailments combined with a sedentary lifestyle are making me depressed so I need some exercise to boost my mood. I’ve upped my yoga but I need something aerobic.

Please wise mumsnetters advise me!!

Do you mean an ear infection (swimmers ear)? I've had that and it was very painful. I swim with ear plugs now and I've not had any problems since. If you don't want to do that you could try aqua fit, which doesn't require you to put your head under the water.

Cross trainer or spin (spin might be ok on knee, it’s ok on mine).

Have you tried Pilates? Similar to yoga but more energetic! Or aqua aerobics - you rarely put your head in the water with that and you could always wear an earplug.

Oh thanks lovely people. I didn't know Pilates was energetic so I'll try that. Aqua fit with ear plugs too.. I know it sounds a bit paranoid but any ear blockage I have worsens my tinnitus so I'll be sure not to get my head underwater.

I was thinking of boxercise also but not sure how it affects the knee joints.

Yes to pilates. It's not energetic as in gym exercises but you will work up a sweat with some pilates moves. Oh and yes you will know you've exercised for a few days after. A good instructor will give different levels of difficulty for each exercise so don't worry about not being able to 'do it'. You'll be fine. Pilates is very good for toning sloppy muscles.
Also yes to aquacise. If you wear earrplugs you can have a swim as well. Win win. good luck
