Bohemian Rhapsody movie and dcs

My ds is 11 and a massive Queen fan, he plays their tunes constantly on the piano and is learning to sing their songs with his music teacher. For those who’ve seen the movie is It an appropriate movie for an 11 year old super fan? Or are there too many adult themes? I thought about waiting till it came onto the small screen but don’t think that would be the same.

I took my 2 DD's aged 14 & 11, to watch it. Both reared on Queen so massive fans and loved it.

I don't think it was inappropriate for them, it was mild enough to go over the 11 year olds head.

Great film, I went to watch it twice in one week

It's quite tame really, compared with what it could be. We took our nine year old who had a few questions but loved the music.

Yes he'll love it. Does he know FM was gay as there's a bit of kissing but most kids are up to speed with that by at 11 I doubt he'll be shocked. There's some drug use that isn't overly noticeable, apart from Freddie getting high. You might want to mention HIV beforehand too so he understands a bit about it but again, as pp said, it will probably all go over his head and he'll just be loving the music.

My just turned 11 year old has seen it three times - they keep roping in different family members . She loves it, loves the music. She's well aware of any of the themes that popped up and knew about HIV already. See it in the cinema, I'm glad she dragged me and I'm not a Queen fan.
