I fucked up and now I'm kicking myself!

Sold a vintage item on eBay. A big, bulky item.

I sold it as 'Large' but now seller has requested a refund as it's actually an X-Large. Totally my fault, I should have double, triple checked. I immediately agreed to a refund and apologised profusely.

The seller now has to package it all up again and post it back which is unfortunate for them. The item will end up in my royal mail sorting office as I work full time and will inevitably be out when the postman tries to deliver it. I won't be able to pick it up until the weekend which in turn will delay my refund. I'm juggling working full time and caring for disabled DC and right now everything feels like a massive effort. I've also spent the sale money on Christmas presents for said DC which means the refund will drag me right into my overdraft.

It all feels like a mess. It's all my fault. Bollocks Sad

Ahh no how rubbish. Can you get it re-listed as soon as possible?

Leggysy · 03/12/2018 21:00

Yes, there was a huge bidding war so I'm sure it'll sell again. I also feel crap for the seller, such a pain in the arse for them.

Gah.

Blimey don't be so hard on yourself. I know it is a pain but we all cock up and get it wrong so stop beating yourself up about it.
Hope you get it all sorted quickly x

You are not a crap seller, it is just you and they buyer had a difference version of large.

List asap and give measurements, ideally showing the measurement tape against the item in the photo.

Treat this as a learning opportunity. Good luck with the resale.

Pinkypurply88 · 03/12/2018 21:05

Offer the next bidder in line a second chance? And message and see if they’d still like if it’s an extra large? If so, get your returner to send directly to them - instead of you - as the “return address”?

Thanks all. Life is so hectic at the moment and I just feel a bit overwhelmed I guess.

The buyer seems very understanding which has helped massively!

Onwards and upwards.

You are rocking woman and don't forget it...You made a mistake, we all do it. Let the bidding war re-commence!
